TABE Testing Info
We are TABE testing for our January 2024 Adult Only Welding and Plumber Technician programs and our February 2024 Phlebotomy Technician program. TABE testing for our Commercial Driving CDL Class A program is ongoing throughout the school year.
Below is the link to request your TABE exam test date (after you fill this link out you should receive an email within a few days with test information, if you do not check your junk folder as some students say the email went to their junk folder).

Collaborative Partner of the Year
We wanted to congratulate our Commercial Driving CDL Class A instructor, Carmen McGuire, who was awarded the WV Adult Education Collaborative Partner of the Year award.

2022-23 Governor's Workforce Credential Recipients
The following students were the 2022-23 Raleigh County Career and Technical Governor’s Workforce Credential recipients. Our ceremony was held Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 5:30 pm at our school. These students had to meet the following criteria to qualify fully for this credential:

Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA from 9th-12th grade

Earn a minimum of one state-approved industry certification

Meet the Governor’s Workforce Credential cut-score on the NOCTI exam for their program

Achieve a 95% minimum score on their CTE portfolio

Attain a verified school attendance rate of 95% or higher their senior school year

Pass a minimum of 2 negative drug screenings (not less than 30 days apart)

June 2024 Evening Practical Nursing Program
Candidates for the June 2024 Evening Practical Nursing Program will be chosen from the list of applicants who successfully complete (1) TEAS entrance exam (2) Interview (3) Math classes and test.
TEAS ENTRANCE EXAM
TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) Testing at ACT will be held on January 8, 2024 for the June 2024 Evening Practical Nursing Program. Applicants must register at ACT’s office before testing. A $75.00 test fee payable in cash or check only is due at the time of registration. Please bring the correct change as the office does not keep change.
Please visit ATItesting.com to set up an account prior to testing and for more information regarding the TEAS exam. Applicants must be at the test site no later than 2:45 pm and bring a photo ID. Testing will begin promptly at 3:00 pm Candidates must score a minimum of a 54% to move on to the interview.
INTERVIEW
Interviews will be held the week of April 8th after successful passage of the TEAS exam.
MATH CLASSES AND TEST
Math classes are scheduled for the week of April 22nd and applicants will test on April 30th. Attendance is mandatory for all applicants the following 4 evenings: April 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th. Class times are 5:00-8:00 pm. Applicants are required to complete an additional 12 hours of online or in-person training. 80% is required on the Math test to be admitted into the program.
ORIENTATION
After students are accepted into the Practical Nursing Program, they must attend Mandatory Orientation on May 3rd. Additional costs and requirements will be provided at that time.

Congratulations Daytime Practical Nursing Graduates
We wanted to congratulate our Daytime Practical Nursing program for a 100% NCLEX pass rate for 3 years straight now. This pass rate is based off the students first attempt at the test. Congratulations to the instructors and students.

National Technical Honor Society Induction
On Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 5:30 pm at the Woodrow Wilson High School Auditorium we inducted over 80 new members into our National Technical Honor Society chapter.
The National Technical Honor Society exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career and Technical Education.
To qualify students had to have a 3.5 GPA, 95% attendance, and teacher recommendation.

SkillsUSA Competition
Our students competed in the SkillsUSA State Conference in Fairmont, WV on March 24th and 25th. Our Middle School Division all placed . There were 2 Golds, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze. The High School Division had 2 Golds, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze. The Adult Division placed 4 Golds, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze.
