Lesa Spears is
the ProStart/ Culinary Arts Instructor at ACT. She has been a teacher for twenty-five
years in Raleigh County in Family and Consumer Sciences at both the middle school
and high school levels. Lesa received her bachelor’s degree in FACS from
West Virginia University and is currently working on her graduate education degree
at Grand Canyon University. Lesa was the first WV ProStart teacher to receive
her Certified Secondary Foodservice Educator Certificate from the National Restaurant
Association and also served as the ProStart teacher of the year for 2008. A lifelong
resident of Raleigh County is also the parent of Valerie Spears a graduate of
Marshall University. Her interests include cooking, reading, knitting, and taking
care of her new puppy Turner Aragon McTavish – a West Highland Terrier.
